Julie vanLeuven
Owner
Prior to starting her ShelfGenie business in 2009, Julie was a dedicated career professional, working as a consultant, project and product manager in the telecommunication and healthcare industries. During her tenure Julie always enjoyed identifying problems and implementing solutions for them. She has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, a master’s degree in applied linguistics and an MBA. After completing a six-month, thorough research of entrepreneurial opportunities, Julie ultimately decided on a franchise opportunity with ShelfGenie. It seemed a natural fit for her problem-solving skills and Julie has happily transitioned her strengths into resolving homeowners’ struggles by improving the efficient use of their storage space. Customers’ smiles and “thank you” notes have been fueling her to continue delivering the highest quality customer service and solutions. Julie currently lives in metro Atlanta with her husband and their daughter who teaches Julie the meaning of unconditional love on a daily basis. Julie loves to travel because she enjoys learning more about life from other cultures. She even lost her big toe nail after a two month-long backpacking trip through Europe in her twenties. -
Kim Casey
Design Consultant
Working as a designer for ShelfGenie allows Kim to combine her love of people with her love of communication and organization. She spent years working as a Registered Dietitian in various clinical settings, developing the skills of truly listening to each client, evaluating their specific needs, and then creating personalized plans. She’s been able to pull her favorite parts of those experiences- connecting with people and constructing customized solutions- and combine them with her love of organizing to help our clients find just the right solution for their space. Forever a learner, Kim loves studying the ideas of ShelfGenie designers nationwide so she can continue to give her clients the most effective design options available. -
Sari Alifeld
Design Consultant
Sari is genuinely empathetic with people and skilled at providing creative solutions. She was a successful professional in the pharmaceutical industry before deciding to dedicate herself to raising her two children. In 2014 Sari was ready to resume her professional career and found ShelfGenie. Since joining ShelfGenie, Sari has received a number of compliments from her customers for her professionalism, caring manner and design ideas. -
Bob Blanz
Sr. Installation Partner
A graduate of Mercer University, Bob spent five years in the automobile dealership business. Bob’s natural ability to develop relationships and his knowledge of the auto service industry, were essential to his success. Building on his career in the auto industry, Bob joined his father in the family business where his Grandfather and Father combined over Fifty years experience as manufacturer representatives. His business involved sold and installed library and church furnishings across Georgia. Bob joined the ShelfGenie Atlanta team in 2015, where he applies his unique strengths to understanding the scope of client needs and delivering ShelfGenie custom Glide-out drawer solutions. -
Beverly Hartel
Installation Partner
Beverly (“Bev”) Hartel has always had a knack for making people feel at home. From her hometown in Portland, Oregon to New York, and all over metro Atlanta, she has used her foundation of relationships with people to have a successful career in property management that spanned 28 years. Her hobbies include cooking, entertaining, woodworking, biking and hiking. While spending a lot of time in the kitchen she saw how she could help others become organized. After a long career in property management, Bev combined her caring attitude, construction, and general contractor knowledge to start her own business, ContractHER. This led her to a career with ShelfGenie where she can showcase her skills doing what she loves while helping homeowners make their dreams come true. -
Bruce Springsteen VanLeuven
Brand Mascot
I joined the ShelfGenie Atlanta family in August, 2022. My mom keeps my food bags, snacks and toys in my ShelfGenie drawer. So, my family won't have any issue when they need to find something for me. I participate in business calls sitting behind my mom or on her lap and give a few barks to say "hello". Hopefully I can attend events as a brand mascot.
